A slots player in Norway has won €2.9m on Yggdrasil Gaming’s Joker Millions progressive jackpot slot after playing the game as he waited outside a shop for his girlfriend.

Chris, a 21-year-old from Oslo, was playing the slot on LeoVegas on Monday afternoon and spun the life-changing sum of money – €2,881,257 – from a bet of just €1.25 placed on his mobile as his girlfriend bought apples in a grocery store.

He said he plans to invest in two apartments with the money, and also take his girlfriend to the Maldives to celebrate.

It is the third time Joker Millions has paid out since it launched in March 2015, having previously fallen for €720,000 last September and €460,000 last December

Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming, said:

“It is a huge thrill to see someone win such a staggering sum of money from a single spin on an Yggdrasil slot.”

“Joker Millions is our first progressive slot and it is beloved by both operators and players. With more operators continuing to join the Yggdrasil network, the jackpot will be building up again quickly.”

Karolina Pelc, Head of Casino at LeoVegas, added:

“We are delighted that this jackpot was won by one of our customers who was playing LeoVegas on his mobile phone as a means to keep himself entertained. This truly shows what LeoVegas stands for – number one in mobile entertainment.”

“Yggdrasil games are always popular with our players as they look forward to enjoying more great content while chasing the next big jackpot.”

Joker Millions’ pooled jackpot has an expected fall out value of €2m and unlike many progressive jackpot games, also features a deep and engaging base game.
